About Jaana Sahling

Hi, I’m Jaana!

I was born and raised in Germany, and my husband is from Vietnam. We met as backpackers on Fraser Island and now live in a home that blends German and English (Germlish) with a touch of Vietnamese.

From a young age, I had a passion for free, intuitive art-making. I loved getting messy with paints and pencils and spending all my pocket money on art supplies and paper. Over the years, this passion has grown and deepened through my studies. I’ve discovered that creating something meaningful with our own hands connects us with our most authentic selves, bringing calmness, understanding, visibility, surprise, challenge, and inspiration.

Creative expression through painting, collage, movement, voice, and written words offers incredible potential for connection, self-awareness, and understanding of our emotions and needs.

I am a professionally trained Creative Art Therapist, having earned my Master’s degree from the MIECAT Institute. I am also a professional member of PACFA, ensuring that I adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice.

I am incredibly grateful and excited to share this transformative art therapy process with everyone who enters my studio. Creating an inclusive and welcoming space for people of all ages, abilities, genders, and cultural backgrounds is of utmost importance to me. Through my own art practice and years of experience working with individuals privately and in diverse group settings, I’ve learned to cultivate safety, trust, and support within our shared time and space together.

What I love about Creative Art Therapy:

Connect with Others: Whether in one-on-one sessions or group settings, this therapy fosters meaningful connections and shared experiences.

Express Freely: There’s no right or wrong in art—no mistakes! It’s all about freedom and embracing your unique expression.

Open to All: Creative Art Therapy welcomes everyone, regardless of age, gender, background, or ability.

Empower Your True Self: This approach helps you connect with your intuition, aiding in decision-making and genuine self-exploration.

Mindful Moments: It offers a chance to pause, reconnect with your senses, and express yourself without words.
